Bio

Jeff Rogers

Lead vocals, keys & bass

...is a singer-songwriter from Ottawa, Canada. His influences include Stevie Wonder, B.B. King, Donny Hathaway, Ray Charles and Jamiroquai.

Having discovered the musical potential of their son early on, Jeff’s parents encouraged him to develop it further by providing him with his first piano and music lessons. Since then, Jeff has taken up saxophone, guitar, and developed his voice to accompany his piano playing. Now predominantly a singer and piano player, he has earned repute as a dueling piano player based out of Ottawa as well as a member of the southern rock groups The Cooper Brothers, Silver Creek and fronting Ottawa's latest big band, The Commotions.

After the release of his blues-inspired, self-titled debut album in 2007, Jeff appeared at numerous festivals opening for various acts including Taj Mahal, Colin Linden, Sonny Landreth, and The Downchild Blues Band. In June of 2012, Jeff released his second full length album entitled "Let It Show", and has since opened for Norah Jones on the Main Stage of The Ottawa Bluesfest (July 8th, 2012). A new album is in the works, so stay tuned!

Jamie Holmes

Drums

...has been an active member in the Ottawa music scene for the past 10 years. With almost 20 years of experience behind the kit, Jamie has gained a vast amount of knowledge and experience playing in most styes of music ranging from jazz, Latin and funk to rock, pop and hip-hop. During his school years studying music performance at Carleton University, Jamie was able to hone in on his musicality even deeper while being taught by and eventually working with some of the cities top players.
While you may find Jamie performing locally with just about any musician in the area, he is most commonly heard with his jazz group The HML Trio or the Prime Rib Big Band , performing funky hip-hop fusion with his power quartet The Chocolate Hot Pockets and Thrust or playing soulful funk, pop and a dash of blues with his duo Beats'n Keys.
To date, music has taken Jamie all over North America, over to Europe and as far as away as Australia and the South Pacific Islands and is a Juno nominated drummer for his work with renowned blues artist Jw Jones. On top of playing in small combos as well as large ensembles, Jamie is also very comfortable working in the studio as a session player, working on musical productions, working on cruise ships, composing his own music and teaching.
